What we collect when you use SPECT, why we collect it, who sees it and how to delete it. Plain words, no tricks.

The short version
- We collect what SPECT needs to work: your account, what you build, and learners' progress and answers.
- Learners' answers are visible only to the owner and admins of the workspace that shared the SPECT.
- No ads, no tracking, no third-party analytics, and we don't sell your data.
- Your data is stored with Google Cloud in Canada, and media is delivered by Cloudflare.
- You can delete your account and your data from the app at any time.
1.Who we are
SPECT is made by Stanley Park Creative Inc.
SPECT is a service for building interactive training, sharing it with the people you choose and seeing how each of them did. It includes this website, the web app and the SPECT apps for iPhone, iPad and Android (together, “SPECT”). SPECT is provided by Stanley Park Creative Inc. (“we”, “us”).
This policy explains what we collect, why, who we share it with, how long we keep it and the choices you have. If you have a question, use our contact form.
2.What we collect
Only what SPECT needs to work: your account, what you build, and learners' progress and answers.
Your account
When you sign up we collect your first and last name, your email address and a password. Passwords are handled by our sign-in provider and stored only in hashed form; we never see them. We ask you to verify your email address before you can use SPECT.
What you create
The SPECTs you build: titles, text, settings, and the images, audio, video, captions and files you upload. We keep the original file name of uploaded files so people can download them with a sensible name.
Learning activity
When you take a SPECT we record your progress so you can pick up where you left off on any device: which modules and blocks you have viewed and completed, your answers to questions (including written answers and quiz attempts), scores, and when you started, were last active and finished. If the owner uses Groups, we also record which group you are in and your group results.
People you invite
When you share a SPECT we store the email addresses you enter and the role you choose (editor, viewer or learner), who sent the invitation and its status.
Files you import to find email addresses
If you choose “Import from file” and agree to the prompt, the file you pick (a PDF, spreadsheet or image) is sent to Google's Gemini service to read the email addresses in it. We don't store the file. Its file name may appear in our service logs.
Billing
Paid plans are bought on the web through Stripe, which handles your payment details. We never receive your full card number. We keep your Stripe customer and subscription identifiers, your plan and its status, payment amounts, links to invoices and receipts, payment outcomes (such as a declined payment) and, if you give one when cancelling, your reason for cancelling.
Sign-in sessions and your device
SPECT keeps one active sign-in per account. To do that we store a random session identifier, a random identifier for your browser or app install, the platform (for example, web or iOS) and a generic device description such as “a web browser”. We don't store your IP address for this. On your device, SPECT stores what it needs to work offline briefly and to keep you signed in. If you tick “Remember me”, it also stores your email address and name so it can greet you next time. It never stores your password; your browser or your phone's password manager may, if you ask it to.
Messages you send us
If you use our contact form we receive your name, email address, the topic and your message, so we can reply.
Technical logs
Like most online services, our hosting providers record standard request information, such as IP address, browser type and time, to keep SPECT running and secure.
What we don't collect
SPECT has no advertising, no advertising identifiers and no third-party analytics or tracking tools, and it doesn't track you across other apps or websites. It doesn't access your contacts or your location. On iPhone and iPad it asks for access to your photos only when you choose an image or video to add.
3.How we use it
To run SPECT for you. Never for advertising, and we don't sell your data.
- To provide SPECT: hosting your SPECTs, giving the right people access, saving progress and showing analytics to owners and admins.
- To send emails SPECT needs to work: email verification, password resets, invitations and access notices.
- To keep accounts and the service secure, enforce plan limits and prevent abuse.
- To process payments and keep billing records.
- To answer your messages and support requests.
- To meet legal obligations.
We don't sell your personal information, we don't use it for advertising, and we don't use your content to train AI models. Where the law requires a legal basis, we rely on our contract with you, our legitimate interest in running a secure service, your consent (for example, for importing a file) and legal obligations.
4.Who can see what
Learners' answers are seen only by the owner and admins of the workspace that shared the SPECT.
| Information | Who can see it |
|---|---|
| Your name and email address | People in the workspaces you belong to, and members of any workspace that shares a SPECT with you. |
| A SPECT's content | The people it has been shared with, according to their role. |
| Learners' progress and answers | Only the owner and admins of the workspace. Not editors, viewers or other learners. |
| Group standings | Owners and admins see each group's members and results. Learners see their own group and group totals, never other people's answers. |
| Billing details | Only the workspace owner. |
If you are a learner, the person or organization that invited you decides what is in the SPECT and can see your progress and answers. You can ask them, or us, about your information.
5.Service providers
A short list of companies that help us run SPECT, each getting only what it needs.
| Provider | What they do for SPECT |
|---|---|
| Google Cloud and Firebase (Google LLC) | Sign-in, the database (stored in Toronto, Canada), server functions (Iowa, USA) and website hosting. |
| Cloudflare, Inc. | Stores and delivers images, audio, video and files through its global network. |
| Twilio SendGrid | Sends SPECT's emails and delivers contact-form messages to us. |
| Stripe, Inc. | Processes payments for paid plans bought on the web. |
| Google Gemini API (Google LLC) | Reads email addresses from a file you choose to import, only after you agree. |
These providers process information on our behalf and under their own security and privacy commitments. We may also disclose information if the law requires it, or to protect the rights, property or safety of our users, the public or us. If SPECT is ever sold or merged, your information would transfer under this policy.
6.Where your data is stored
Mostly in Canada, with processing in the United States and on Cloudflare's network.
SPECT's database is stored in Google Cloud's Toronto region in Canada. Some processing happens in the United States, and media is delivered through Cloudflare's global network, so your information may be processed outside your country. We rely on our providers' contractual and technical safeguards for these transfers.
7.How long we keep it
As long as you use SPECT, with a few records kept longer where we need them.
| Information | How long |
|---|---|
| Your account and the SPECTs you own | Until you delete them or your account. |
| Deleted SPECTs | 30 days in Recently deleted, so you can restore them, then deleted for good. Owners and admins can delete them sooner. |
| Learning progress and answers | Until the learner deletes their account or the SPECT is deleted. |
| Unused uploads | Removed automatically within about a week. |
| Invitations | They expire after 30 days. We keep a record of past invitations (the invited email address, role, inviter and status). |
| Billing records | As long as tax, accounting and other legal rules require. |
| Messages you send us | As long as we need them to help you. |
| Technical logs | For a limited period, typically about 30 days. |
8.Deleting your account
You can delete your account and data yourself, from the app, at any time.
In the app, open your profile, choose Delete account, enter your password and confirm. This permanently deletes your workspace and every SPECT in it, your uploaded media, your progress and enrollments, and your access to SPECTs shared with you.
Content you created inside other people's workspaces stays with those workspaces. We keep billing records and invitation records as described above, and finished group results stay with the course without your name or email.
If you pay for a plan, cancel it first in the web app under Plans & billing, Manage billing. Deleting your account doesn't cancel a subscription by itself.
Can't sign in? Request deletion here. More detail is on that page.
9.Your rights and choices
Ask us for a copy, a correction or deletion at any time.
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, delete or receive a copy of your personal information, and to object to or restrict how we use it. You can delete your account in the app at any time. For anything else, use our contact form; we may need to confirm it's you before we act. We reply within 30 days.
We don't sell personal information or share it for cross-context behavioral advertising. If you're unhappy with how we handle your information, you can complain to your local data protection authority; in Canada, that is the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada.
10.Children
SPECT isn't meant for children under 13.
SPECT is not directed to children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has given us personal information, contact us and we will delete it.
11.Security
Encryption, strict access rules and short-lived links.
Information is encrypted in transit and at rest by our providers. Database access is limited by security rules so people only reach what their role allows, passwords are stored hashed by our sign-in provider, and links to media are signed and expire within 12 hours. No service can promise perfect security, but we work to protect your information and will tell you if a breach affects you, as the law requires.
13.Changes to this policy
We'll post changes here, and tell you about important ones.
We may update this policy as SPECT changes. We'll post the new version here and update the date at the top. If a change is significant, we'll also let you know by email or in the app before it takes effect.
14.Contact us
Questions or requests go through our contact form.
